Description
Drawn to explore her family’s historic connection to Greece, photographer Jacqueline Andronicus travelled to her ancestral homeland of Kythira. Over the years, as she explored and photographed the ‘wildness’ of Kythira, her purpose of her journey became clear; to tell her grandfather’s story and share her stories and photographs.
Her grandfather John Andronicus, migrated from Kythira to Australia in 1908, and it was his lifelong consuming passion for coffee that gave rise to Andronicus Coffee, the empire that introduced Australian’s to ‘coffee culture’.
This photobook is for all lovers of Greek culture, and especially for those with an affinity for the island of Kythera. The beautifully crafted treasure is to be shared with family and friends, with its breathttaking photographs and stories, weaving together generations of love for ‘The Island of Aphrodite’ in all her mythical wild beauty.
